Hi, folks — Hi-Fi Holidays will resume it's annual album posting schedule shortly. I am cleaning up some recordings made (but never finished) last year, and starting up new ones for this season.
There have been a handful of comments about old album links not working, and I hope to fix those as well.
Stay tuned!

Here's to the hap-hap-happiest Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSo excited to find the album Christmas is For Children! This was a favourite of mine as a child and I had always hoped to be able to play it for my children. This Christmas I would love to be able to share it with them even though they are in their mid 20's. I clicked on the link for it but was not able to get it. Thanks for the update today saying you hoped to fix the links that were not working.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it!

Wonderful! I was just about to post a message here asking if you were going to continue sharing such great Christmas music again this year!

Can't hardly wait. I know they will be great
ReplyDeleteHi Ryan:
ReplyDeleteI’ve just started a new blog on American Christmas songs and wanted to introduce myself. I’m an author and I’ve just finished a book on Christmas songs for the University Press of Florida (Fall 2013).
Right now I’m pretty ambitious, logging in three entries a week, though that will taper off after the beginning of the year (though I’ll maintain at least an entry a week). My twin focus revolves around American Christmas songs and cultural history.
I look forward to catching the new posts on Hi-Fi Holiday this season.
Happy Holidays!
Ronnie

Just discovered your blog... especially interested in the Longines and Firestone recordings that I remember from my childhood!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!!! It's going to be a great Christmas!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog. Do you think you could find us Gleason's original All I Want For Christmas album ? Impossible to find it. That would make my christmas special.
ReplyDeleteAnother plz pretty plz for "Christmas Is For Children" album.
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous — the link works for me. Make sure you're OK to download from Mediafire, wherever you are.
ReplyDeleteWhile another album link worked on MediaFire the Christmas is for Children album displayed a message saying "permission denied-file has been identified as a copyright protected work and cannot be distributed using MediaFire." Any advice would be appreciated.
DeleteI had the same error message.
DeleteLink updated — for reals!
DeleteThanks for the heads up.
Still getting the same error message:(
DeleteSame here, access denied. I do have a tip though: someone used sendspace for a bunch of big files and it dl'd way faster than any other host. Yeah, the sendspace that used to be slow as snails is (so far) the fastest.
DeleteThe link works, you just need to delete the forward slash (/) in the url, then refresh.
DeleteI think its a security feature set in the browser, not at host.
I was able to get the Christmas Is For Children album now! Ryan, can't thank you enough for making this available. What a wonderful way to start off Christmas 2012! Can't wait to share it with my family. It sure brought back many memories of listening to it repeatedly as a child.
DeleteAnonymous (another!) - I've seen the Gleason album available for download on one of the Christmas sharity blogs. Keep your eyes peeled, it's out there!
ReplyDeleteVisiting Hi-Fi in the mornings during the holidays to discover (or re-discover) some amazing Holiday tunes is one of my favorite annual traditions! Thank you so much for all of the countless hours to present these gifts to all of us!
ReplyDeleteRyan,
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog. I am a big collector of Christmas Albums myself and have about 100. If there are any you are looking for to post, let me know. If I have it I'll be glad to make a copy and mail it to you for "clean-up". The Wayne King you posted is one of my favorites! Thanks for all your work keeping the spirit alive! Chris merryoaks@mac.com
Thanks for the offer, Christopher. Maybe we can follow-up on this after Christmas, which is (surprisingly) when I do most of the Christmas music recording, cleaning, etc. Thanks!
DeleteYou're very welcome!
