Welcome, Christmas 2012!

Hi, folks — Hi-Fi Holidays will resume it's annual album posting schedule shortly. I am cleaning up some recordings made (but never finished) last year, and starting up new ones for this season.

There have been a handful of comments about old album links not working, and I hope to fix those as well.

Stay tuned!

  2. So excited to find the album Christmas is For Children! This was a favourite of mine as a child and I had always hoped to be able to play it for my children. This Christmas I would love to be able to share it with them even though they are in their mid 20's. I clicked on the link for it but was not able to get it. Thanks for the update today saying you hoped to fix the links that were not working.

  6. Hi Ryan:

I’ve just started a new blog on American Christmas songs and wanted to introduce myself. I’m an author and I’ve just finished a book on Christmas songs for the University Press of Florida (Fall 2013).

Right now I’m pretty ambitious, logging in three entries a week, though that will taper off after the beginning of the year (though I’ll maintain at least an entry a week). My twin focus revolves around American Christmas songs and cultural history.

I look forward to catching the new posts on Hi-Fi Holiday this season.

    Happy Holidays!

    Ronnie

  11. Hi Anonymous — the link works for me. Make sure you're OK to download from Mediafire, wherever you are.

    1. While another album link worked on MediaFire the Christmas is for Children album displayed a message saying "permission denied-file has been identified as a copyright protected work and cannot be distributed using MediaFire." Any advice would be appreciated.

    5. Same here, access denied. I do have a tip though: someone used sendspace for a bunch of big files and it dl'd way faster than any other host. Yeah, the sendspace that used to be slow as snails is (so far) the fastest.

    6. The link works, you just need to delete the forward slash (/) in the url, then refresh.

I think its a security feature set in the browser, not at host.

    7. I was able to get the Christmas Is For Children album now! Ryan, can't thank you enough for making this available. What a wonderful way to start off Christmas 2012! Can't wait to share it with my family. It sure brought back many memories of listening to it repeatedly as a child.

  13. Visiting Hi-Fi in the mornings during the holidays to discover (or re-discover) some amazing Holiday tunes is one of my favorite annual traditions! Thank you so much for all of the countless hours to present these gifts to all of us!

  14. Ryan,
I just found your blog. I am a big collector of Christmas Albums myself and have about 100. If there are any you are looking for to post, let me know. If I have it I'll be glad to make a copy and mail it to you for "clean-up". The Wayne King you posted is one of my favorites! Thanks for all your work keeping the spirit alive! 1. Thanks for the offer, Christopher. Maybe we can follow-up on this after Christmas, which is (surprisingly) when I do most of the Christmas music recording, cleaning, etc. Thanks!
